Everything went their way against Sharon Springs Central as Edmeston Central made off with a 48-24 win. Given Edmeston Central's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while Sharon Springs Central is ranked 486th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
The win got Laurens Central back to even at 1-1. As for Edmeston Central, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0.
Laurens Central didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Edmeston Central when the teams last played back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 36-31 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Laurens Central since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
