The Faith Christian Eagles put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 46-28 win over Asheboro Hybrid Academy. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Faith Christian has scored all year.
Despite the defeat, Asheboro Hybrid Academy saw an underclassman step up: Autumn Voncannon dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Voncannon scored 15 or more points.
Faith Christian pushed their record up to 7-0 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Asheboro Hybrid Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Faith Christian will be home for the holidays to greet South Guilford HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Asheboro Hybrid Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
