It was a good run, but the Niwot Cougars unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 48-40 to Roosevelt. Niwot lost against Roosevelt in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 59-50 score last time.
Niwot's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jackson Carano, who scored 10 points along with 7 rebounds. The game was Carano's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Archer Buckbee, who scored 12 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Roosevelt to victory, but perhaps none more so than Landyn McCann, who scored 12 points along with 9 rebounds. Seppe Salvatore was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Niwot's defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Roosevelt, they pushed their record up to 1-3 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Niwot will take on Silver Creek at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Silver Creek presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Niwot in Colorado (Silver Creek is ranked tenth, while Niwot is ranked 152nd). As for Roosevelt, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Northridge at 7:00 p.m. on December 7th. Hopefully Northridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 last Friday.
