Eagle Valley and Summit are an even 4-4 against one another since September of 2014, but not for long. The Eagle Valley Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Summit Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Eagle Valley is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Eagle Valley narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Glenwood Springs 19-16. The win was just what Eagle Valley needed coming off of a 48-7 loss in their prior match.
Eagle Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elias Pena, who rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Another player making a difference was Caiven Lake, who threw for 130 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Summit's recent rough patch got a bit rougher two weeks ago after their third straight loss. They took a 50-33 bruising from Glenwood Springs. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Eagle Valley's win bumped their season record to 2-6 while Summit's defeat dropped theirs to 4-5.
