After a string of three wins, the Back of the Yards College Prep Bobcats's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were outmatched by DuSable on the road and fell 63-28. Back of the Yards College Prep lost against DuSable in their previous head to head back in January of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 49-21 score last time.
DuSable found their leader in underclassman Lavelle Mullen, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Malone, who scored 12 points.
Back of the Yards College Prep now has a losing record at 3-4. As for DuSable, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Back of the Yards College Prep will head out on the road to face off against Mansueto at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mansueto is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. DuSable will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Tilden at 4:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Hopefully Tilden focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Monday.
