After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pearsall, the Lytle Pirates were happy to have found some success on Friday. They strolled past Kenedy with points to spare, taking the game 63-45. Given Lytle's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 350th, while Kenedy is ranked 1244th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lytle to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zacharee Perez, who scored 16 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. The matchup was Perez's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Seth Pierce, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds.
Lytle pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 37.07 points. As for Kenedy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lytle will challenge Stacey at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kenedy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Karnes City at 6:30 p.m. on December 12th.
