The West Forsyth Wolverines will look to defend their home field on Friday against the South Forsyth War Eagles at 7:30 p.m. South Forsyth took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on West Forsyth, who comes in off a win.
West Forsyth put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Forsyth Central, posting a 37-7 win on the road. The win was just what West Forsyth needed coming off of a 45-14 loss in their prior game.
Foster Orris got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, and also picked up 61 receiving yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Centanni, who threw for 222 yards and three touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 34 points the game before, South Forsyth were a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Lambert, falling 49-7. While losing is never fun, South Forsyth can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 193rd, while Lambert is ranked 40th).
West Forsyth's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 29.0 points per game. As for South Forsyth, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's match: West Forsyth has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 160.7 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for South Forsyth, though, as they've been averaging only 57.6 per game. How will South Forsyth fare against such a dominant running game?
