Volleyball Game Preview: Sage Creek Bobcats vs. Mission Vista

Sage Creek is a perfect 4-0 against Mission Vista since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Bobcats will face off against Mission Vista at 5:30 p.m. Mission Vista took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Sage Creek, who comes in off a win.

While Sage Creek's win against Otay Ranch wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bobcats skirted past the Mustangs 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bobcats have posted since March 22nd.

Sage Creek got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the fourth set. The final score came out to 21-25, 27-25, 25-18, 28-30, 15-9.

Brandon Jemison was nothing short of spectacular: he had 22 digs and three aces. That's the most aces he has posted since back in March. Preston Vuu also deserves some recognition as he had his first digs of the season.

Meanwhile, Mission Vista unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against Canyon Crest Academy, falling 3-0. The shutout was out of character for Mission Vista seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

While Mission Vista was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-20, 25-22.

Sage Creek's win bumped their record up to 16-17. As for Mission Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 12-12.

Sage Creek skirted past Mission Vista 3-2 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bobcats since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
