Carson Kotil Turns in Season-Best Performance
Crete was led to victory by Carson Kotil, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Kotil rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 37 receiving yards, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 86 yards.
Crete moved to 1-6 with that victory, which also ended their seven-game losing streak. Kotil will have a chance to log another big game when he takes on Northwest on Friday.

Edison Knott and Co. Win Seventh in a Row
Edison Knott was instrumental in extending Seward's winning streak to seven on Friday. Knott was dynamite, rushing for 100 yards, while also picking up 34 receiving yards.
Seward's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Knott and Seward will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Crete at 7:00 p.m. on October 25th.

Kaiden Wood Sets Career High in Rushing Yards
Kaiden Wood posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He rushed for 143 yards while picking up 8.4 yards per carry.
Lincoln Northwest is on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7. Wood and Lincoln Northwest will square off against Standing Bear at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Nick Wendt Puts an End to Crete's Losing Streak on Friday
Crete's seven-game losing streak dating back to last season is now nothing but a memory thanks in part to Nick Wendt. Lincoln Northwest had no answer to Wendt on Friday as he threw for 166 yards and two touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes, and also rushed for 41 yards.
