The Randleman Tigers came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down Providence Grove 58-39. 58 seems to be a good number for Randleman as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Randleman got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Audra Petty out in front who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Chenleigh Robinson, who scored 15 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Despite the loss, Providence Grove still got an impressive performance from JADA NIXON, who scored 12 points. LAUREL BERNHARDT was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds.
Randleman is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Providence Grove, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.
Randleman will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Trinity at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Trinity is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Providence Grove, they will be playing at home against Wheatmore at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Wheatmore is ranked 262nd, while Providence Grove is ranked 266th).
