Basketball Recap: Out-of-Door Academy Takes a Loss

Out-of-Door Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 25-22 heartbreaker at the hands of the Shorecrest Prep Chargers. The Thunder were probably out for revenge after losing 24-11 to them when the teams met back in November of 2015, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Out-of-Door Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Bertie Bryson posted seven points along with six rebounds and four steals. With that strong performance, Bryson is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. Gaby Bichanich was another key player, putting up seven points and six steals.

Even though they lost, Out-of-Door Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive matchups.

Out-of-Door Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Shorecrest Prep, they moved to 1-4 with that victory, which also ended their 14-game losing streak.

Out-of-Door Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-33 loss against Cambridge Christian on the 12th. As for Shorecrest Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 37-27 defeat against Santa Fe Catholic on the 13th.
