Indian Springs got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Oriyah Clay out in front who went 12 for 24 on her way to 26 points in addition to seven steals and five boards. With that strong performance, Clay is now averaging an impressive 16.2 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Juliana Torneskog, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 boards.
Indian Springs smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Founders Classical Academy came into Saturday's game having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 27-18 victory over Sandy Valley on Saturday.
Founders Classical Academy got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Vanely Cruz and Julietta Curdy, who each put up eight points. Curdy also led the team in rebounds with nine.
Indian Springs now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Founders Classical Academy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.
Friday's matchup is shaping up to be a scrappy contest: Indian Springs has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 32.2 boards per game. It's a different story for Founders Classical Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 13.8 rebounds. Given Indian Springs' sizable advantage in that area, Founders Classical Academy will need to find a way to close that gap.
