North Central recap October 1, 2013
Richmond added to the longest winning streak in North Central this week by beating Kokomo, 37-20. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
The Wildkats' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jordan Rawlins threw for 33 yards and Jordan Matthews had 26 yards receiving. On the ground Bo Baker chipped in 147 yards.
Kokomo's dynamic duo of Rawlins and Matthews proved to be unstoppable against Richmond, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Baker provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Brett Colby's team fell to Matt Holeva's team. Baker's key target this week was Matthews, who caught 2 passes for 26 yards.
The Red Devils' Jordan Christian and Matt Marrow led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Christian has thrown for 891 yards this season, while Marrow, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 21 catches for 417 yards. The Wildkats' Baker leads the league in rushing yards with 809.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Muncie Central takes on Huntington North. As it stands, the Bearcats are in second, while the Vikings are in third.
Logansport made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,514 from 11,726. The advance stemmed from a 19-0 victory over Muncie Central last week.
