Tri-Eastern recap October 1, 2013
Centerville scaled the state rankings by moving to 250 from 278 this week, the biggest jump in Tri-Eastern. The Bulldogs climbed the ranks as a result of topping Northeastern 34-22.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Winchester beat Union City 34-7. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Dustyn Hangen and Kiante Enis gave Winchester a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Hangen threw for 80 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Enis ran for 140 yards. Hangen also contributed to the rushing game with 103 yards on the ground.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Centerville's Tyler Weaver and Austin Hall have proven to be a lethal combination. Weaver has thrown for 904 yards this season, while Hall, a 5-foot-7 receiver, has 16 catches for 384 yards. Kelsy Kirkland from the Knights leads the league in rushing with 823 yards.
An important game coming up in Tri-Eastern this week will be when Union County takes on Northeastern. At the moment, the Patriots are in third, while Mike Roeder's team is in second.
