Baseball Recap: Poudre Has No Trouble Against Greeley West

Poudre's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They blew past the Greeley West Spartans 8-1. The matchup marked the Impalas' most dominant win of the season so far.

Angelo Vieira made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.

Vieira wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Bay, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Benny Quast also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Poudre pushed their record up to 5-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Greeley West, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.
