Madras took care of business in their home opener. They were fully in charge on Friday, breezing past McLoughlin/Griswold 53-7. Madras was expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Madras's came in ready to rumble, picking up 28 points in the first half with two touchdowns score on kick returns. McLoughlin/Griswold came up with 7 to make it 28-7 heading into the break. The other side of the ball continued to do well for Madras in the second half and held McLoughlin/Griswold to 0 points. This was the first game for both teams, giving Madras a 1-0 record and starting McLoughlin/Griswold off at 0-1.
Madras are packing up and heading on the road for the first time this season. They face off against La Pine next week at 7:00 PM. McLoughlin/Griswold have some extra time to regroup and restrategize before their next game, which is against Baker at 7:00 PM in two weeks.
