The Rock Canyon Jaguars stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Ponderosa 78-28 at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-13.
Brooke Harding was her usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with eight steals and seven assists. She hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Sienna Pillsbury, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Despite the loss, Ponderosa still got an impressive performance from Maddison Neale, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals. That was a full 39.3% of Ponderosa's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenni Sorvillo, who scored ten points.
Ponderosa struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Rock Canyon pulled down 14 offensive rebounds.
The victory made it two in a row for Rock Canyon and bumps their season record up to 15-5. As for Ponderosa, they dropped their record down to 5-15 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Rock Canyon will square off against Castle View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rock Canyon is facing Castle View at the right time seeing as Castle View is stuck on a four-game losing streak. Ponderosa will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Mountain Vista at 5:30 p.m. on February 9th. Mountain Vista has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
