Lake Buena Vista was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-16.
When it comes to explaining why Lake Buena Vista lost, one person who can't be blamed is Travis Ligene. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points. Ligene scored a full 27.1% of Lake Buena Vista's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryan Mwangovya, who scored 13 points.
Winter Springs' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Terell James, who scored 20 points. Kaiden Williams was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Lake Buena Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Winter Springs, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Buena Vista will take on Lyman at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Winter Springs, they will be playing at home against Trinity Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Trinity Prep will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 512th, while Winter Springs is ranked 127th).
