The Schoolhouse Prep Wolfpack are taking a road trip to take on the Varela Vipers at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Schoolhouse Prep will be strutting in after a win while Varela will be coming in after a defeat.
Having struggled with three losses in a row, Schoolhouse Prep turned things around against Northwestern on Monday. They put the hurt on the Bulls with a sharp 14-1 victory. The Wolfpack might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Camilo Urena looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Schoolhouse Prep's success: when he allows at most two hits the team is 2-1 (and 8-9 when he doesn't).
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kaeno Hinkel, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Schoolhouse Prep is 2-1 when Hinkel posts one or more home runs, but 8-9 otherwise. Calex Cosculluela was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Schoolhouse Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2025.
Dade Christian hit Varela with a four-run first inning back in March, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Vipers fell 5-0 to the Warriors. The Vipers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Varela also got a good showing from Jayden Lamb, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Lamb has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances.
Varela's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8-1. As for Schoolhouse Prep, the win got them back to even at 10-10.
Schoolhouse Prep got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March against Varela by a conclusive 7-0 score. Will the Wolfpack repeat their success, or do the Vipers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
