Basketball Recap: Zhayne Hellums and Luke Stults Secure Win for Argos

Argos hadn't done well against Glenn recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Argos Dragons came out on top against the Glenn Falcons by a score of 61-51. For the Dragons, this counts as revenge for the 72-52 victory the Falcons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Argos was led to victory by Luke Stults and Zhayne Hellums. Stults almost dropped a double-double on 28 points and nine boards, while Hellums went 7 of 13 en route to 20 points in addition to six rebounds and four blocks. The dominant performance also gave Hellums a new career-high in steals (three). Another player making a difference was Mack Calhoun, who posted six points and seven rebounds.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaden Lang, who went 6 for 7 on his way to 13 points along with six assists and six steals. Lang is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Divine, who had ten points.

The win made it two in a row for Argos and bumps their season record up to 3-9. As for Glenn, they dropped their record down to 1-13 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Argos has already played their next game (against Lakeland Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Glenn will take on Culver Community in a tournament on Friday. Glenn is facing Culver Community at the right time seeing as Culver Community is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
