VACAVILLE, Calif. -
Granite Bay (Calif.) took an early lead against
Vacaville (Calif.) and held on for a 46-28 victory on Saturday.
The Grizzlies put up 14 points in the opening quarter. Granite Bay scored on a touchdown run and a
Tony Ellison touchdown run.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Ellison in the first quarter, GB led 27-14 at the half.
The Grizzlies grew their lead to 19 points entering the fourth quarter. Granite Bay scored two times in the third, including once on a passing touchdown.
GB avenged last year's 38-27 loss to the Bulldogs with the victory.
The loss comes after Vacaville defeated Lincoln 56-35 last week. The loss broke Vacaville's two-game winning streak.
In a non-conference game next week Vacaville (2-1) takes on Oak Ridge, and Granite Bay (2-1) will go up against Pittsburg also in a non-conference game.
