Atlantic and West Boca Raton are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2016, but not for long. The Atlantic Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the West Boca Raton Bulls at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Atlantic is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
Even though Atlantic has not done well against Palm Beach Lakes recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Atlantic came out on top against Palm Beach Lakes by a score of 54-45. Given Atlantic's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while Palm Beach Lakes is ranked 196th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Elanie Sullard was her usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with six steals and five blocks. The game was her seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keaira Todd, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, West Boca Raton took a serious blow against Somerset Academy - Canyons on Friday, falling 70-20. West Boca Raton has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Atlantic's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for West Boca Raton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
Atlantic suffered a grim 51-28 defeat to West Boca Raton in their previous meeting back in January. Can Atlantic avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
