The Unionville Longhorns will take on the Avon Grove Red Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
On Monday, Unionville came up short against Bayard Rustin and fell 6-2. The Longhorns have struggled against the Golden Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Unionville got a good showing from Wes Haiko, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Haiko has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Dom Scattolino made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. Matt DiFelice also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, Avon Grove also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Downingtown West by a score of 4-1.
Ryan Fuller was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.
At the plate, Avon Grove saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kevin Nole, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
Avon Grove's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Unionville, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Unionville has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Avon Grove struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Unionville couldn't quite finish off Avon Grove in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 and fell 4-2. Will the Longhorns have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
