The Spanish Springs Cougars can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. They breezed by Carson at home to the tune of 55-11. With Spanish Springs ahead 30-6 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Spanish Springs to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mackenzie Chase, who scored nine points along with two steals. Allison Hayes was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with four steals.
Spanish Springs' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-9. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 33.67 points. As for Carson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spanish Springs won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Galena at 3:30 p.m. on January 24th. Galena will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nevada Rankings (they are ranked 64th, while Spanish Springs is ranked 16th). As for Carson, they will head out on the road to take on Reno at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Kindle Rowe and Lauren Finnerty.
