The Lima Christian Saints will be playing in front of their home fans against the Jasper-Troupsburg Wildcats at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lima Christian comes in on four and Jasper-Troupsburg on six.
Last Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Lima Christian beat Honeoye 30-24. Given Lima Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while Honeoye is ranked 501st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lima Christian found their leader in underclassman Alyssa Marsh, who dropped a triple-double on 20 points, 18 rebounds, and 11 steals. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Marsh has scored at least a third of Lima Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Lily Herring, who scored five points.
Meanwhile, Jasper-Troupsburg slipped by Hammondsport 47-46 on Thursday.
Lima Christian's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Jasper-Troupsburg, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
Lima Christian was taken down by Jasper-Troupsburg 69-34 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Lima Christian was down 33-8.
