Sparta entered their tilt with Newaygo on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Lions. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-0 on Friday.

The team relied heavily on Alaysia Hammock, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last eight games she's played. Alexa VanVliet was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Sparta's win bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Newaygo, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sparta will host Lowell at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Newaygo, they will be playing at home against Chippewa Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.2 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of.
