The Millbrook Wildcats posted their biggest victory yet this season on Friday. They really took it to Rolesville for the full four quarters, racking up a 84-52 win at home. Given Millbrook's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Rolesville is ranked 335th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Colt Langdon was his usual excellent self, scoring 31 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Millbrook's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Olander, who scored 16 points.
Rolesville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Chris Long, who scored nine points. Cannon Marshall was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds.
Millbrook has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Rolesville, they dropped their record down to 5-9 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Millbrook will square off against Wakefield at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Wakefield knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Millbrook likes a good challenge. Rolesville's road trip will continue as they head out to face Knightdale at 7:45 p.m. on January 23rd.
