Softball Recap: North Pike Triumphs

With a playoff win on the line, North Pike rose to the challenge on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Wayne County War Eagles a 10-0 shutout. The Jaguars haven't had any issues with the War Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Ellyn Williams, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Lawrence, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: North Pike kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

North Pike's win bumped their record up to 7-17. As for Wayne County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-20-1 record this season.

North Pike has already played their next contest, a 10-0 victory against Wayne County on the 24th. The War Eagles does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
