In what's become a running theme this season, the Marie Philip Galloping Ghosts gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They blew past Tournament Opponent, posting a 50-6 win on the road. The team accrued 41 points in the first half and coasted on those for the win.
Marie Philip was led to victory by Stokely Karp and Xavier DeLeon. Karp scored 11 points along with five steals, while DeLeon scored 12 points along with six steals and five assists. DeLeon is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least three every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremy Novas, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Marie Philip is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. As for Tournament Opponent, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 78-273.
Marie Philip and Ohio School for the Deaf will face off at 4:00 p.m. on February 10th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Ohio School for the Deaf is coming into the game with five straight wins on the road, so Marie Philip is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. Tournament Opponent is on the road again on Friday and plays Independent Baptist Academy at 3:00 p.m. on February 9th.
