Hargrave Military Academy hasn't had much luck against The Covenant recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. Meanwhile, there's no place like home for The Covenant, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They blew past Fredericksburg Christian 10-3 on Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what The Covenant needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Evan Pariseau made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Pariseau was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, The Covenant got a big performance out of Hudson Reese, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Reese has become a key player for The Covenant: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Latham Clark was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.
The Covenant was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
The Covenant's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Hargrave Military Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Hargrave Military Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like The Covenant struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
