The Whiteland Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Rushville by a score of 54-51. Whiteland was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Rushville apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sukhman Bains, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Dyer, who scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds.
It was another big night for Leonie Boyer, who scored 21 points for Rushville. That makes it three consecutive games in which Boyer has scored at least 25% of Rushville's points. Another player making a difference was Kylee Herbert, who scored 4 points.
Whiteland has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Rushville, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Whiteland will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Martinsville at 1:30 p.m. Martinsville is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. As for Rushville, they will head out on the road to face off against Greensburg at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Greensburg's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games.
