The Rockport-Fulton Pirates lost against the Calhoun Sandcrabs back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Rockport-Fulton was dealt a 56-14 defeat at the hands of Calhoun. Rockport-Fulton was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.
Darrik Salinas was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Another player making a difference was Alex Parker, who rushed for 66 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries.
Rockport-Fulton's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Calhoun, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Rockport-Fulton will head out on the road to face off against La Vernia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. La Vernia knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Rockport-Fulton likes a good challenge. As for Calhoun, they will be playing at home against Floresville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Floresville is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
