The Loudonville Redbirds will challenge the Highland Fighting Scots at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Highland will be up against a hot Loudonville squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went the Redbirds' way against East Knox on Friday as they made off with a 17-9 victory. The Redbirds' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Loudonville let Addison Wolford and Jocelyn Kegley run wild. Wolford scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Kegley scored four runs and stole a base while going 5-for-5. Wolford is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Helaina Gray, who scored four runs while going 3-for-4.
They weren't the only one making solid contact: Loudonville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Highland was able to grind out a solid win over Johnstown-Monroe on Thursday, taking the game 15-10. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Fighting Scots.
Maddy Stuckman was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Saylor Squires, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.
Highland's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Loudonville, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Highland's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Loudonville has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.5 hits per game. It's a different story for Highland, though, as they've been averaging 9.6 hits. Given Loudonville's sizable advantage in that area, the Fighting Scots will need to find a way to close that gap.
Loudonville was able to grind out a solid win over Highland in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 4-0. Will the Redbirds repeat their success, or do the Fighting Scots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
