The Kent Denver Sun Devils stacked a 13th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat The Academy 92-48 on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 50-20.
Caleb Fay was his usual excellent self, scoring 32 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Alex Padalino was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.
The Academy's loss came despite strong showings from CJ Hernandez and Trey Boychuk. Hernandez scored 19 points along with five rebounds, while Boychuk scored ten points.
Even though they lost, The Academy were working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. This was only their 12th loss (out of 18 games) when they've passed the ball that well.
Kent Denver's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-2. As for The Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-15.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kent Denver will take on Eagle Ridge Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kent Denver knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 19 contests -- so hopefully Eagle Ridge Academy likes a good challenge. As for The Academy, they will be playing at home against Jefferson Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully The Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Tuesday.
