Central and the Patriots are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. The Central Rockets' road trip will continue as they head out to face the American Patriots on February 6th. One thing working in Central's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 19 matches.
Central scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 102-74 win over North Miami. Central has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 23 points or more this season.
Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anthony Barnes led the charge by going 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 21 points and 0 assists. Another player making a difference was Willie Dye III, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, American came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 64-45 win over Everglades.
Central is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. As for American, they pushed their record up to 16-8 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Central came up short against the Patriots when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 53-43. Can Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
