Basketball Game Preview: Abbeville Christian Academy Generals vs. Southwest Georgia Academy Warriors

The Abbeville Christian Academy Generals and the Southwest Georgia Academy Warriors will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Abbeville Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Southwest Georgia Academy likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Abbeville Christian Academy blew past Wiregrass, posting a 69-39 victory. The Generals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 30 points or more this season.

Jayden Buckhannon was his usual excellent self, going 9 for 15 on his way to 23 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Cooper, who posted ten points.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Abbeville Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Southwest Georgia Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Valwood on Friday, taking the game 63-54. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Warriors' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 277th, while the Valiants are ranked 125th).

Abbeville Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Southwest Georgia Academy, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Abbeville Christian Academy was dealt a bruising 80-51 loss at the hands of Southwest Georgia Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2019.
