Falkville and Clements are an even 4-4 against one another since February of 2016, but likely not for long. The Falkville Blue Devils will head out on the road to square off against the Clements Colts at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Falkville has given up an average of 10.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
On Saturday, Falkville didn't have quite enough to beat East Lawrence and fell 11-10.
Peyton Davis was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Clements, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past Sheffield 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Colts have posted since April 6, 2024.
Braxton Sims spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Grayson Borden, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Falkville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Clements, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Falkville suffered a grim 16-1 defeat to Clements when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Falkville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
