The Cedaredge Bruins fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 56-45 win over Gunnison on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Cedaredge also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Cedaredge got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Luke Maxey out in front who scored 20 points along with five steals. Maxey is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Logan Tullis, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Cedaredge pushed their record up to 5-9 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points per game. As for Gunnison, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.
Cedaredge will take on Roaring Fork at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Roaring Fork focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday. As for Gunnison, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Fork at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
