River Ridge took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-7 victory over the Land O' Lakes Gators. The Royal Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Gators, too.

Nicholas Cavazza threw for 112 yards and one touchdown. Dareal King was his top target, picking up 50 receiving yards and one TD.

Land O' Lakes' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Chance Houston, who threw for 103 yards and one touchdown, and Dylan Richardson, who picked up 36 receiving yards and one score.

River Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 17-13 win against Steinbrenner on the 29th. As for Land O' Lakes, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-6 victory against Cypress Creek on the 29th.
