Pennfield had to endure a nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against the Comstock Colts on Monday as they made off with a 17-1 victory. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Alaina Simmons made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Simmons was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Jenna Wiley was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with four RBI and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Destiny Crumb was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-11. As for Comstock, they are on a 26-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.
