East Hardy is 8-1 against Petersburg since November of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The East Hardy Cougars are on the road again and play against the Petersburg Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in West Virginia (East Hardy is ranked 55th, while Petersburg is ranked 74th).
Two weeks ago, East Hardy came up short against Doddridge County and fell 20-10.
Meanwhile, Petersburg's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Tucker County by a score of 30-27.
Trace Edward Rohrbaugh put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 175 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries, and also picked up 53 receiving yards. Kaleb Kuhn got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
East Hardy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Petersburg, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.
East Hardy was able to grind out a solid win over Petersburg when the teams last played back in November of 2022, winning 37-26. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Hardy since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
