The Jarrell Cougars lost against the Lorena Leopards back in November of 2017, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Jarrell ended up on the wrong side of a rough 62-36 walloping at the hands of Lorena. While losing is never fun, Jarrell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 397th, while Lorena is ranked 149th).
Jarrell's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaydyn Edwards, who scored 10 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Aniya Taylor, who scored 12 points.
Jarrell's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Lorena, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.
Jarrell will head out on the road to face off against Non Varsity Opponent at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. As for Lorena, they will be playing at home against Gunter at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
