Basketball Recap: Mechanicsburg Piles Up the Points Against Triad

Mechanicsburg won the last time they faced Triad and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Mechanicsburg Indians blew past the Triad Cardinals 56-19. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 23 points or more this season.

Mechanicsburg found their leader in sophomore Clara Forrest, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 boards. Mylee DeLong was another key player, putting up a point in addition to 20 rebounds and six steals.

Mechanicsburg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 39 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Triad only pulled down ten offensive boards.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Mechanicsburg, bringing their record for this year to 11-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points per game. As for Triad, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.

Mechanicsburg didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-45 win against Fairbanks on the 18th. As for Triad, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 50-22 victory against Northeastern on the 18th.
