The Noblesville Millers and the Marion Giants will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Noblesville is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Marion in Indiana (Noblesville is ranked tenth, while Marion is ranked 97th).
Last Saturday, Noblesville didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Indianapolis Crispus Attucks, but they still walked away with a 51-46 win. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Noblesville has scored all year.
It was another big night for Hunter Walston, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for him. Baron Walker was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Meanwhile, Marion scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They breezed by Huntington North at home to the tune of 77-40. The win was just what Marion needed coming off of a 80-49 loss in their prior contest.
The win makes it two in a row for Noblesville and bumps their season record up to 4-1. As for Marion, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Everything came up roses for Noblesville against Marion when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 83-46 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Noblesville since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
