The Lakota East Thunderhawks's 23-4 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell 46-39 to Archbishop Alter on Sunday. Lakota East has not had much luck with Archbishop Alter recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Lakota East still got an impressive performance from Celina Blount, who scored 12 points along with 6 blocks and 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Sturgill, who scored 9 points.
Lakota East now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Archbishop Alter, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakota East will take on Mount Notre Dame at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Archbishop Alter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Archbishop McNicholas at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
