The Taliaferro County JAGUARS's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their seventh straight loss. They took a 54-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Glascock County. Taliaferro County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Glascock County apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Several JAGUARS players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Orlandus Craft, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Jemauri Merritt was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds.
Even though they lost, Taliaferro County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Taliaferro County's loss was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Glascock County, their victory ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-20.
Taliaferro County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Glascock County, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against David Emanuel Academy at 7:30 p.m. on February 8th. Glascock County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
