The Webster County Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Marshall County Marshals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Webster County is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
Last Saturday, Webster County suffered a tough 68-44 loss at the hands of Christian County. While losing is never fun, Webster County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 211th, while Christian County is ranked 89th).
Meanwhile, Marshall County didn't have too much trouble with Mayfield on the road on Saturday as they won 56-40.
Webster County's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-21. As for Marshall County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.
Webster County didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Marshall County when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 60-55 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Webster County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
