The Sonoraville Phoenix lost to the Adairsville Tigers back in February of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. Sonoraville had just enough and edged Adairsville out 4-3.
Sonoraville hit Adairsville with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Bailey Deboard (2),
Lillian Kindl, and
Lina DeLeon Rojas.
Sonoraville's win bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Adairsville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sonoraville will take on Gordon Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Gordon Central's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. Adairsville will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Pepperell at 5:00 p.m. on February 13th. Adairsville's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
