The Briarwood Academy Buccaneers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  on Saturday after their third straight  defeat. They fell to Piedmont Academy  49-43. Briarwood Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in January.
 Despite the  defeat, Briarwood Academy saw an underclassman step up:  CUTLER FLEMING  scored 26 points along with five  steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points  FLEMING has scored all season.  mason Thigpen was another key contributor,  scoring two points along with ten  rebounds and two  steals.
 Even though they lost, Briarwood Academy  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 17  offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Piedmont Academy only pulled down  an  offensive rebound.
 Piedmont Academy got their  win on the backs of several key players, but it was  Chase Taylor out in front who  scored 16 points along with five  rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of  Camden Moss, who  scored 12 points.
 Briarwood Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Piedmont Academy, their win  ended a 11-game drought on the road  dating back to last season and  puts them at 2-20.
 Briarwood Academy has the luxury  of staying home another  game and will welcome the Cavaliers at 7:30  p.m.  on February 6th. As for Piedmont Academy, they and the War Eagles will face off  at 7:30  p.m.  on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Brentwood will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
