In what's become a running theme this season, the Osakis Silverstreaks gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 72-46 margin over Upsala. Osakis' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Noah Boeckermann, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds. Boeckermann has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jack Primus, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
The win (which was Osakis' third in a row) raised their record to 10-3. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.67 points. As for Upsala, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Osakis will take on Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Osakis likes a good challenge. As for Upsala, they will be playing at home against Ogilvie at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Ogilvie will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings (they are ranked 333rd, while Upsala is ranked 161st).
